Family portraits: Gaia and the patasgnaffies/Ritratti di famiglia: Gaia e i patasgnaffi

Ciao amici!

Ricordate che la settimana scorsa vi ho mostrato l'illustrazione ritratto 

realizzata per la pagina about? Presa dall'entusiasmo, ho deciso di fare 

una sorpresa ad un'amica e ritrarre anche la sua simpatica e colorata famiglia.

Sto parlando della super creativa Gaia, autrice del blog dei patasgnaffi, 

dove racconta e illustra con divertenti foto la sua vita di mamma e crafter compulsiva.

Leggerla è un vero spasso e mi ricorda di guardare sempre il lato positivo delle cose, 

anche nelle situazioni più tragiche (che lei magicamente riesce a far diventare comiche).

Adoro questa famiglia e questo è il regalo che ho voluto fare per loro.

Hello friends!
Do you remember last week's post where I showed you portrait illustration 
made for about page? Full of enthusiasm, I decided to do a surprise to a friend, 
creating a portrait of her fun and colorful family. I'm talking about super
creative Gaia, author of blog of patasgnaffi, where she writes and describes 
with funny pictures her life of mum and compulsive crafter. 
Reading her stories is pure amusement and remember me to look always
at the bright side of things, even in the most tragic situation (that she magically 
transforms in comedies).

I love this family and this is my present for them.

Something about me/Qualcosa di me

Come ogni blog che si rispetti, non potevo esimermi dall'avere la pagina about me.
Ma io odio parlare di me, non ci riesco, non so proprio cosa dire. Però credo sia
un segno di rispetto nei confronti di chi mi segue far sapere qualcosina in più
su chi sono e cosa faccio.

E così dopo molti indugi ho scelto di scrivere qualcosa di semplice.
Avrei voluto accompagnare la descrizione con delle foto cool ma:

✽ io non sono cool.

✽ prima della sessione fotografica sarei dovuta andare dal parrucchiere
(non ci vado mai), truccarmi (non mi trucco mai) e soprattutto perdere 10 kg.
E il tempo è quello che è...

✽ avrei dovuto trovare un volontario o fare amicizia con l'autoscatto.
Ma ancora peggio sarei dovuta essere sciolta e disinvolta davanti all'obiettivo. Giammai!

Quindi cosa ho fatto?
Mi sono disegnata e ho rappresentato anche la mia famiglia.
Il risultato è idealizzato, ma voi vi disegnereste più brutti di quello che siete?
Comunque tutto è soggettivo. A me non dispiace, ma qualcuno potrebbe travisare.
Ad esempio mio figlio ha detto "Che carini quei vasi!". Vasi? Vasi???
Ok, il corpo è enigmatico, ma c'è una testa enorme sopra "quei vasi",
come fai a vedere prima i vasi dei testoni???
Amore di mamma, gli voglio bene lo stesso...

As every respected blog, I had to create an about me page. 
But I hate talking about myself, I don't know what to say. However I think 
that it's a sign of respect for those who follow me to let them know something 
more about who I am and what I do.

And so I chose to write something simple. 
I'd like to accompany description with cool pictures, but:

✽ I'm not cool.

✽ before photo session I should have gone to the hairdresser (I never go), 
put make-up on (I never do) and most of all lose 10 kilos. And I haven't time...

✽ I should have found a volunteer or make friends with self-timer. 
But even worse I should been expansive and relaxed in front of camera. Never!

So, what have I done?
I drew myself and my family. The result is idealized, but would you draw yourself 
uglier that you are? However everything is subjective. I like it, but someone 
could misunderstand. For instance my son said: "How nice those vases!". 
Vases? Vases??? Ok, the body is enigmatic, but there are huge heads above 
"those vases", how can you see the vases before the big heads?
My love, I love him anyway...
